Never Too Late

Standard

These blocks were old – maybe 20 years old and I made them. The math doesn’t seem to work out since I’ve been 25 for the last 20 years! Moving on, the point of this story is that these blocks were made and exchanged with a group of quilting friends. . . an Amish flavor with solid colors. They had seen a couple of moves, several closets, and still persisted. They found me several months ago when I was in a “get some projects finished” mental state of mind. So here they are. Backed with black Kona cotton which was no small feat. Since the pandemic, the elusive black Kona was as hard to find as snipes at a girl’s camp. The blocks are still alive and vibrant. Thank you sisters for having made colorful memories with me. Ginger

Bean Bags for Scripture Block Quilt

Bean Bags for Scripture Block Quilt

Two years ago the Stashing Sisters had a quilt block exchange.  The theme was “Scriptures”.  Everyone involved chose their scriptures and block designs then shared their ideas with each other before the making began.  This process avoided duplicates.  The anticipation and delight of the exchange did not disappoint.

Here is one Stasher’s finished quilt.  The backing for the quilt had been waiting in her stash closet for a few years.

Bean bags were made from the extra fabric to be used in a teaching game with children:  throw the bag on a square and tell the story.  If the bag lands on a multicolored, they can tell a scripture story of their liking.

Each block will be identified in the next post.
